The system pairs with NSD’s unique ABSOCODER absolute position sensor. Unlike incremental encoders, the ABSOCODER does not require an origin return after power interruption and is built to withstand harsh factory environments including vibration, oil, and dust.

To prevent accidental changes to critical machine timing, the VS-5E offers a Protected Switch function. This locks specific outputs against unintended modifications, requiring a specific cancellation procedure before adjustments can be made.

Flexible Timing Pulse Output

The controller supports configurable timing pulse outputs (60, 180, or 360 pulses per revolution). This feature is ideal for monitoring rotation speed and synchronizing peripheral equipment without needing additional sensors.

Remote Configuration & Backup

Equipped with an RS-232C communication port, the VS-5E allows for remote setup and serial communication. Settings can be backed up to a host controller, enabling quick disaster recovery or cloning settings across multiple machines without manual re-entry.
