The right choice of material

The exact machining and the special heat treatment are decisive for the long and safe function of these press pliers (press jaws). During the pressing process, press forces required on the pressing pliers can be created up to 100 kN (10 t), which must be safely absorbed by the pressing pliers.

These press pliers are therefore made of forged and particularly hardened special steel with high strength. The respective system-specific press contour – together with the required outdoor machining of the baking jaws and the marking of the press contour and pipe size – is incorporated in a single operation on CNC machining centres and rounded out exactly by machine and rounded out exactly by machine.

The special heat treatment of the press pliers in the hardening resin achieves an ideal combination of strength and toughness. This production process guarantees that the incorporated press contour is transferred to the press connection properly and with a long service life.

Traceability according to EN 1775:2007REMS press pliers/press rings with press contour M, V, SA, B, RN and UP have each incorporated a specific marking into the press contour, which leaves a lasting impression directly on the pressed fitting after the pressing process. This allows the user to check whether the suitable pressing pliers or the suitable press ring was used to manufacture the press connection even after the pressing process.

With this traceability, REMS meets the recommendations of the European standard EN 1775:2007 for the installation of press fitting systems for gas .
